Ich habe dem Buch entgegen gefiebert wie jedem Buch der Autorin und sie hat mich nicht enttäuscht.Es kommt meiner Meinung nach nicht ganz an die Spannung der Taken und Torn-Bücher heran und ich fand das Ende etwas kurz geschrieben. Ich hätte mir gewünscht, mehr über Melissas Schwester zu lesen und ja, vielleicht bin ich blutrünstig, aber dass dieser Mistkerl Sean seiner gerechten Strafe zugeführt wurde, hätte etwas mehr Zeilen verdient.Der Leser sei gewarnt, das Buch ist stellenweise düster und vor allem Melissas Erinnerungen nichts für schwache Nerven.Ich hoffe, von ein paar der Charaktere in folgenden Büchern mehr zu lesen, weil ich speziell Hawks Bruder sympathisch fand.Alles in allem ist das Buch absolut empfehlenswert!
Anytime I see a book written by Natasha Knight, I make sure to pick it up. She’s a phenomenal writer who first hooked me with her Benedetti Crime Family saga and then later with her Taken, Torn and Twisted trilogy. This story, The Devil’s Bargain, is every bit as good as her previous works..I’m not one who discusses plot in reviews (read the blurb) but I do want to say that the story of Hawk and Melissa is a very compelling and honestly alluring read. Melissa is stuck paying a debt for another and Hawk, after meeting Her, is bound and determined that she would be the only one to pay it back, such is his instant attraction to her.Now let me tell you what Natasha’s writing does. It takes you out of your ordinary world and easily transports you into the intriguing and oftentimes alarming worlds that she creates. You forget you’re reading, the images in the book free-flowing through your mind, allowing you to experience her scenarios first hand. And oh my, what wonderful stories she weaves! Again, anytime you see a book written by Natasha Knight, pick it up. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

The Devil's Bargain was a deeply emotional, dark and gritty story that I really enjoyed. Natasha Knight brings her 'A' game to this book, delivering a dark romance that readers will love. This book had stellar writing, along with a great plot and two intriguing main characters."This man, he's all sharp edges. It's like someone took a beast out of the wild and put him in a thousand-dollar suit thinking it would somehow tame the animal inside. Somehow contain it.I am a big fan of Natasha Knight's writing style and this book was no exception. I liked that this story focused on the emotional elements just as much as the darker ones. It really added another layer of depth to the story. Both Melissa and Hawk had suffered so much in their pasts and were coping with it in their own ways. I loved how their interactions began with animosity and lust and slowly developed into something more. The intimate scenes were both hot and edgy, with the passion that Melissa and Hawk had for each other coming out in full force. I felt like each time they came together, it was even more intense than the last time. Knight wrote these scenes really well. I loved how the sex was the way the two of them deepened their connection without even realizing it."I am an animal and I'm staking my claim when I empty inside her. Melissa is mine. All f***ing mine."I loved the way the story wrapped up; it went in a direction I wasn't expecting when I first began reading. The length of the book was perfect and the plot flowed really well. I really enjoyed the way Knight laid out the information on both characters' pasts in a way that had me wanting to know more. There were a couple of characters who I would love to read more about, so I have my fingers crossed that the author has books planned for them. All in all this was a fantastic story that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys dark romance.
This story has many good and bad points. First, Melissa is taken to help pay a debt of her foster sister. Hawk gives her a choice, auction or sister gets bearing. But unknown to Hawk is Melissa’s abusive past that affects all she does and feels. Hawk has a similar situation with his estranged family.Some spoilers ahead.What I like:Melissa is strong in so many ways. She is not afraid to stand up to Hawk and to fight against his rules. Hawk has some good qualities but his temper almost ruins everything.What I don’t like:Abuse. Beatings. Choking. Violence again women. Not just in Melissa’s past but in her relationship with Hawk. Physical contact that is consensual is fine but that is not the case in this story. Would have rated the story higher if the violence against Melissa had been less.
I always enjoy any of the books Natasha Knight writes. This one is no exception. In fact, I think the story if Hawk and Melissa might be my favorite. This man is tough and expects everyone to fall into line. Melissa has been through hell and survived. What starts out as a business arrangement turns into much more. Past evil rears its head and Melissa must face it down, when all she wants to do is run. Hawk must deal with his own family issues. Natasha weaves a story that draws us in and makes us care about these two.
